Day 679 – January 26, 2024

Harvey is in remission!!! At 4 pm CST today, we received a call from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. His medical team informed us that his ClonoSEQ test results (the most sensitive and thorough cancer test available) show no detectable cancer in his body: He is MRD negative!! We are celebrating, taking in all the feelings of this long-awaited moment. Harvey immediately went to the cupboard with his sister, Hattie, pulled out a strawberry cake mix, and declared that we are baking a celebratory cake! There’s still a long way to go in this journey (we’ll share more details in our next update), but the narrative has now changed. We’ve now entered Chapter 6 of this journey: Reclaimed Remission. Cancer started this fight, but Harvey will end it.

Harvey listens to the great news: He is in remission!

  1. The sweetest words in our 61 years on this earth, β€œno cancer,’ spoken by Harvey the cancer warrior himself! It feels exactly as it should after two years of unimaginable hell….like a gentle heavenly hugπŸ’• We are thanking God for this great news and for all the wonderful people who supported this young family through the darkest days. Celebrating with all of you, that strawberry cake will be the best treat ever!

  3. Hugs to our brave warrior! I look at this little guy and wonder where and how far this guy will go. Suffering builds a strength and endurance that those who have not been on that road cannot understand. Our Harvey is loved by so many people and I believe we will watch him in wonderment as God calls and directs his life. Go get β€˜em, Harvey!

  6. Harvey!

You may not remember me, but I volunteered often in your class. You used to hold my hand at recess. I sometimes played monster, but never chased you because you didn’t want me to.
I saw you are coming back to our school and I’m crying tears of joy reading about your recovery!! I CANNOT WAIT to see you!!

Looking forward to an amazing year!!

    All my love,
    Ms Breanna
